Seven new hires began their Belt career in November 2024.
The class is in the midst of an 18-week training course that will see them become remote control operators (RCOs).
They’re being instructed by Assistant Director of Safety Mark Labbe and Designated Supervisor of RCOs Jim Scarsellato.
“I’m getting close to the end of my career, and training new hires is a way to pass the torch,” said Scarsellato, who commends the team members for “applying themselves” and “getting ready for a long railroad career.”
“They’re excited to be here,” he said.
Labbe echoes the sentiment.
“They’re engaged with each other,” he said.
