Members of the police force were the latest to receive ongoing counterterrorism training from Transportation Security Administration (TSA) expert George Romero.
They were joined by police forces from CSX, Indiana Harbor Belt Railroad, Norfolk Southern and Union Pacific. It was the third training event of its kind, with a previous session dedicated to just the Belt’s Mechanical employees.
While past events covered the rudiments of identifying explosives or tampering, the most recent session was more advanced and based in part on input from the Belt’s police force, which helped tailor the training to the circumstance of railroading and its unique facilities.
