The Belt had a third shift appreciation cookout Jan. 25 from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Senior leadership and administrators visited various locations.
The event was organized by Superintendent of Safety Terry Hartwig. It offered an opportunity for engagement among teammates who don’t normally work at the same time.
In addition to showing appreciation to craft professionals, he said it was an occasion to discuss safety.
“I am happy we were able to do it,” Hartwig said, noting that engagement events regularly will be held with each shift. “There’s a lot of good happening. We had a strong fourth quarter in terms of safety.”
