Conoboy joins new work family

Carman Helper Michael Conoboy said he already has a few familial ties at the Belt, with his first being his uncle, Jerry Conoboy, the Belt’s Director of Police and Risk Management.

Prior to joining the railroad, Michael said his uncle and Superintendent of Mechanical Adam Brock gave him a tour and introduced him to other craft and leadership team members. Michael said the experience gave him a sense the company offered a great future and a family-like environment.

“I was really close with the people at my old job, so I’m glad I can continue having strong relationships with my co-workers here,” said Michael, who was previously employed by an asphalt construction company.

Away from work, Michael enjoys being on the water, which can include fishing, swimming or riding his new personal watercraft. His German shepherd, Copper, however, likes to simply run toward and then away from the tide.

“He has a lot of puppy left in him,” Michael said about the “hyperactive” 8-year-old.

I’m glad I can continue having strong relationships with my co-workers here.
