Director Business Technologies and Solutions Michael Martinez will lead the team formerly known as the Information Technology Department.

The team is dedicated to ensuring employees have the technological tools they need to succeed. 

In the midst of personnel changes, the time was right to refocus, said Martinez, who has 24 years of experience in various Transportation roles.

His fieldwork combined with his IT experience gives him a unique perspective that positions him well for his new duties. Martinez believes his multifaceted background will help him guide the team, so that the Belt’s technology suits the needs of BRC. Presently, the team is working on replacing the AS400 software system that controls car operations. 

Martinez said the company’s vision statement guides him and his team: Being better tomorrow than we are today.
