Engineering is in full swing this summer.

The tie gang recently installed 2,000 ties, with many more to come, according to Chief Engineer Tom Lyons.

In July and August, Engineering will install four turnouts on the east throat track underneath Cicero Avenue. Lyons characterized the location as crucial as it allows heavy amounts of traffic to move between the east classification and departure yards.
