Electric door switches installed outside the Diesel Shop are a welcome enhancement.
“That investment is paying off,” Assistant Superintendent-Mechanical Patrick McCarron said.
The switches operate the Diesel Shop’s bay doors. Previously, employees had to walk into the shop to open and close doors. In the winter, when snow and ice prove to be potential footing hazards, taking fewer steps helps reduce exposure in addition to boosting efficiency.
McCarron said he was pleased with the contractor’s work to install the switches for each of the nine bay doors.
