The BRC Police are beginning a new practice intended to boost engagement.

Officers are occasionally stopping and informally chatting with employees.

Director of Police and Risk Management Gerald Conoboy said he wants to be proactive in encouraging communication and interaction between police and the rest of the workforce.

“We want to create a dialogue and ensure that people are comfortable telling us about safety concerns or sharing ideas,” he said.

Officers are reminding employees that the back of their ID cards list the police’s hotlines: 312-543-8269 between 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. and 312-543-3658 between 6 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Officers said employees should not hesitate to report concerns, including suspicious persons.
