Major trade magazine honors Chodorow

Progressive Railroading has cited Chief Information Officer Nick Chodorow as a “Rising Star.”

The magazine defines a “Rising Star” as someone under the age of 40 “who has made, or is making, a positive impact on his or her company, organization, department or team, and is viewed by others … as an up-and-coming leader in the rail industry.”

The specific criteria include “contributions to railroading, career achievements, education, demonstrated leadership, professional association activity and/or community involvement.”

Progressive Railroading will celebrate the 2017 Rising Stars at a recognition dinner on July 23 at the Chase Park Plaza Hotel in St. Louis, Missouri. Chodorow also will be featured in the September edition of Progressive Railroading.

Chodorow addresses major conference

In April, Chief Information Officer Nick Chodorow spoke at the third annual Secure Rail Conference hosted by Progressive Railroading.

According to the magazine, Chodorow was one of 20 presenters who addressed how railroads can improve the security of assets, passengers and employees.

Chodorow noted that changes in the industry, including IT connectivity, have meant that concerns have shifted. He said the priority has gone from protecting things such as copper from thieves to protecting the integrity of the railroad’s wireless network from them.
