Engineering employees recently extended Track 1 in East Receiving by 800 feet. It will now accommodate longer inbound trains. 

This type of project wouldn’t usually occur in the winter, but with mild weather, the team seized the day, pausing during late-December’s blizzard.

Track employees also installed a switch, while Communications and Signal employees added a switch machine and updated software.

“BRC’s employees worked safely and efficiently to make the necessary signal field changes to complete the project,” said Hump and Signal Supervisor Mark Ferguson.
