Chicago-based TSA Explosives Specialist George Romero met with carmen Aug. 22 in what was the first installment of ongoing counterterrorism training. Through the next several months, other crafts will work with the security expert, who has more than three decades of experience.

Romero’s 90-minute program focuses on the basics of emergency response and helps train employees to notice subtle cues that indicate an issue. It included hands-on examples of explosive devices. Attendees said they appreciated the approach because they identify as visual learners.

Employees offered positive feedback, praising Romero’s clear mastery of the subject matter and ability to convey his message concisely.
