Mazurski values tradition

Without the ability to significantly expand infrastructure, the Belt relies on enhancing efficiency to move the company forward. Mazurski is part of that effort. His role is to analyze internal processes and streamline them to make them more efficient.

“My favorite part of the job is bringing the railroad up to speed in terms of technology,” he said.

But history and tradition are important to him.

“I think railroading is a fascinating industry,” Mazurski said. “It’s a major part of the American economy and its traditions are important. It’s part of why it’s a stable company.”

Mazurski grew up in Chicago’s Ashburn neighborhood, not far from BRC.

He graduated from Marist High School and University of Iowa, where he majored in management information systems.
