Was there anything in training that you were not expecting?
“I did not know what to expect. I had no experience with the railroad.”

What was the most helpful thing in training?
“All the small tricks you learn from the veterans. I would like to say thanks for taking the time to shows us. They teach us as they are doing it.”

Any first impressions of the company?
“It is more like a family. Everyone has each others’ back out here.”

Favorite part about your job?
“Being outside. I also like the physical labor.”

Any advice to new hires?
“Be patient and have a sense of humor.”

What are you interested in?
“Spending time with my family. I like working on my house in my free time, camping and anything outdoors.”

“The labor intensity. It started out easy going, then a month in you see how much goes into it.”

What was the most helpful thing in training?
“The veterans — being able to pick their brains. Also, they can get it in one try so they help if we get frustrated.”

Any first impressions of the company?
“It shows a lot of care for employees.”

“The job atmosphere is great. We are building America’s future.”

Any advice to new hires?
“Be ready to learn.”

What are you interested in?
“School. I am going back for civil engineering.”
