Manager of Human Resources and Labor Relations Caitlin Kerney and Chief Clerk of Transportation Brandy Lindquist recently went on an adventure. Their goal: Make family day as awesome as possible.

The outing began in an amusement equipment purveyor’s showroom. As Kerney and Lindquist turned a discerning eye to his wares, the shopkeeper said in a whisper, “Let me show you something.”

That’s when the two Belt employees beheld it: a train-shaped grill.

They immediately discussed renting the must-have item at a reasonable price. The grill will be used to serve up various treats, everything from frankfurters to vegetarian options. Fresh squeezed lemonade, popcorn, ice cream and cotton candy also are part of the refreshments lineup.

Attractions will include a bounce house, a bounce obstacle course, a dunk tank and a display of Belt’s equipment.

“They’ve been shined up and look beautiful” Kerney said.

There also will be giveaways, including Belt swag and backpacks.

Family Day will take place June 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine. Employees should look for an RSVP in the mail.
