Nov. 30, 2021 

Switchman Graeme McClure noticed a suspicious black backpack 

under a rail car in the East Classification Yard. He contacted BRC Police, and officers immediately responded and located the 

backpack, which, upon inspection, was determined not to be a threat. Great observation skills, Graeme! Keep up the good work! For his efforts, he received a Belt challenge coin, safety cap and mug.


Dec. 5, 2021, 7:29 p.m.

Carman Andrew Homan observed a suspicious person walking westbound under the Cicero Avenue Bridge on 47 Fire Road. He  immediately notified BRC Police and continued his observations until the officers arrived and cited the subject for trespassing on railroad property. Thank you, Andrew, for seeing and immediately notifying BRC Police about a suspicious person. Your keen sense of observation and actions may have prevented a theft or injury on railroad property! Keep up the excellent work!


Dec. 12, 2021, 2:50 a.m.

Transportation Employee Drew Kipp observed a trespasser in the East Yard Office. He immediately notified BRC Police who apprehended the offender. Due to Drew’s heads-up observation and immediate action, additional crimes may have been prevented. Excellent job, Drew!


Dec. 15, 2021, 8:45 p.m.

Conductor Mike Neri observed two trespassers on a hopper car near Hayford. He immediately 

notified BRC Police, who responded to area. With Mike’s help, they located the offenders. Due to Mike’s heads-up observation and immediate notification to police, two juvenile 

offenders were arrested. This prevented potential injuries, property damage or other crimes from being committed.
